Buffalo Wings n Things Complaint - Guy put mozzarella stick I bit into back in the vat after I bit it

Review by adsicks on 2010-12-31
PORTLAND, MAINE -- We ordered a Pizza, Steak and Cheese sandwich, Onion Rings and mozzarella sticks for New Years eve dinner from Buffalo Wings -n- Things on Cumberland Ave. There was very little meat on the sandwich and half of it was literally as hard as beef jerky. The Pizza and onion rings were visibly burned. The cheese sticks were frozen in the center. I took the order back after calling and complaining. The manager asked me to bite one of the reworked mozzarella sticks because he said "I'm not having any more food coming back tonight." The stick was still frozen in the center. He put all the sticks, including the one I bit back into the vat. When I suggested the vat was too hot or maybe a thermostat was broken, the manager got real defensive about it. I got home and confirmed the stick I bit was in with the mozzarella sticks and my girlfriend called and complained. The manager was rude and refused to give us info to contact the owner. I have eaten here before and the only problem I have ever had was orders dropped by the online ordering system a few times, and they have always given me great food and service. However, the food and service was so poor tonight I am beginning to think it is just too much of a hassle to eat there any more.

Was your order, including the one you bit into, the only ones put back into that vat??

Oy Vey, I am speechless.

That doesn't sound like any way to talk to a customer.

If they have an online ordering system, there should be contact info on the website. That's gross.

I'm confused as to what you mean by "vat". Like the fryer? How would you be by the fryer to see that?

Skye, wrong restaurant.
Buffalo Wings N Things looks like a franchise.

Every retail establishment must post information about their company. The owner's name (who may be another company) is on there. Also, look you your State's Corporation Commission website, these contain a wealth of information on a company. When it started, company officers, etc.

bob, most localities only require the business license to be posted

for the record, the temp of frying grease is over 350 degrees so anything gross in your mouth would be instantly destroyed once it hits the fryer. Not condoning it, just saying...

By the Vat I mean the fryer grease. The guy claims to be the owner, but I know it is a franchise. I don't know who owns the overall franchise.

The guy is an ass. We have been making our own steak sandwiches with stuff from Hanaford's. We were out, so my GF thought we would give them one more try. We had our order delivered this time. It was over an hour late, so I walked over to check. The guy said there was no order. I walked home and we were about to call somewhere else, and the delivery showed up.

Terrible customer service. The place is chaos...
