Applebee's Complaint - Poorly prepared food
LAKELAND, FLORIDA -- Ordered Applebee's new dish - steak with grilled blackened shrimp - asked that steak be cooked medium rare and asked for garlic shrimp instead of blackened. Shrimp were boiled, undercooked and tasteless. Steak was overcooked. Sauce on steak was skimpy and practically non-existent. Ordered fish and chips to replace steak and shrimp. Asked that fries be unseasoned. Fries were hot, unseasoned and okay. Fish apparently was made from frozen - breading was hot but fish inside was cold. Asked waiter for box to take home and reheat. Told him fish was cold. He had no comment.
Apparently the cook at Applebee's, 4835 South Florida Avenue, Lakeland, has a problem with proper food preparation. Granted, the restaurant was busy, but that's absolutely no excuse for improperly prepared food. If the meal was free I would have eaten it, but since I was paying for it, I would have liked it to have been cooked properly.
Also ordered French onion soup and requested that the cheese on top be browned. Cheese was browned but soup was not as hot as it should have been
Someone should light a fire under Applebee's and get them on the ball. I've eaten at Applebee's previously and the food was never this bad. If this were my first time eating there I would never go back again. Unfortunately, I received a gift card to Applebee's for Christmas so I have to go back at least once more to use up the card.
