Apria Healthcare Complaint - Poor billing practice
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY -- Upon receipt of the CPAP machine it was noticed that Apria had billed the wrong insurance company. The cost of the machine would have been covered if Apria had billed the correct insurance company in a timely manner. To ensure this would happen I called Apria the day after it arrived and explained that they needed to bill BCBS of SC and not BCBS of NJ. Even though these are the same parent company they operate independently to the point where you can not purchase the exact policy when switched from SC to NJ. Again I called Apria the day after the machine arrived and they told me it does not make any difference since it was the same parent company. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE and the SC insurance company denied the claim.
BE warned this company does not know the correct way to bill your insurance company and they very well may be coming back to you to pay for their neglect in this area.
