San Jose Airport Advantage Rent A Car Complaint - Beware Of Rental Manager
SAN JOSE AIRPORT, CALIFORNIA -- The San Jose Airport has a very helpful and friendly staff but unfortunatly a rogue manager with a attitude problem. I rented from this location for 6 months straight and had to use a major credit card that held pre-authorizations for 15 days. I returned the cars always after one week and then rented another one. I would pay on return with a debit card and then needed the rental location to call my credit card company and let them know the funds could be released from the original pre-authorization. a common occurrence in the rental industry and protected under the California business and professions codes. after the first rental the location manager called me at home and threatened me and said that if any of his employees provided this service for me they would be reprimanded or fired. I kept renting and the assistant manager, if there, would immediately do this service for me or if I called customer service they would. but, if the manager knew I was renting he would attempt to tie up the process. the last rental I had with them I talked to him personally to get my card released because I needed to rent from their San Diego location that night. 8 hours went by and he never called me. when I reached him again he tried to blame everything on his employees when all along he tied their hands from customer service by not providing them with the locations merchant number for credit card services. I had always been a good renter. returned on time, paid my bill, car was clean with no damage and gassed up. I did not deserve this abuse.
