Carnival Cruise Line Complaint - My horrible experience with Carnival Cruise Line
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- We recently booked a carribean trip through Carnival, departing from Miami, FL. We came all the way from NYC, and arrived 3 hours before the departure time. Carnival took our luggage immediately, then let us wait in a long line for another hour, and finally we arrived at the check point. The check-in personnel denied our boarding shortly after looking at our travel document. We told them these are the document required by CBP( US custume and border protection) and we made multiple phone calls to confirm with CBP before our departure. The Carnival personnel didn't want to listen at all. We then suggested him to call up CBP at Miami himself and his respons was he needed not to. The end of our story was that a group of 9 of us including two infants and two senoir were stuck in Miami for the entire week waiting for our luggage. During that time, we called CBP again and got positive confirmation on the validity of our travel document. what is worse is that Carnival even refused to refund us for the ticket cost( we didn't even get on their ship becasue of their mis-judgment!). We wrote a letter to their CEO telling him our terrible experience with his company and he never got back to us. We finally had to file a disoute through our credit card company on the ticket cost we paid out, and my credit card company told us Carnival claimed they ever had that personnel as their employee, and even worse they told our credit card company that we didn't follow the travel instruction they gave us, etc. They are a BIG lier: before we booked the tickets with Carnival, we asked them if they can give us some instruction on travel document, and they said it is CBP who provides such information, and they are merely a commercial cruise company and doesn't want to give wrong information, etc. Carnival is a big lier and an irrespobsible merchant. I will NOT recommend Carnival to anyone if he/she doesn't want to have a nightmare.
