Ashley Furniture Complaint - Worst Furniture Company Ever Dealt With
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA -- I cannot believe this company is still allowed to sell products that they cannot deliver as promised or even close to. We paid a local store upfront for a very expensive set in the form of a cashier's check and were promised a delivery date within 5-7 days. However, just a few days prior to that date, we received a call from Ashley Customer Services that the date had been pushed back a couple of days and that the furniture had arrived at the local warehouse and just needed to be delivered and we were like ok. When the day arrived and we realized we had not received a call to s/u a delivery time, we called Ashley and were informed the date was pushed back another 3 weeks, just prior to Christmas.(UNBELIEVABLE) We then called to inquire what was going on because we had already missed the Thanksgiving holiday, we were informed the furniture had not even been made (???) and that we would receive a waiver of the delivery fee of $119. Are you kidding me? We requested a full refund and the representative had the nerve to say there is a 30% restocking fee. I laughed and asked how would that apply if the product hasn't been made and demanded a full refund or we would hire an attorney. We were then promised to receive a refund within 7-10 days. After allowing 2 weeks to pass, we called a few times only to be told that someone would call back. Finally, after 7 weeks of purchase date, we had to call Ashley Furniture again and literally threaten to go to the media and BBB and of course, a call came later that day that check was being issued that day. Within 2 days of call, the refund was received. I would like to say though, that the service received at the local store was very warm and professional and we do not hold them accountable in any way as they contacted headquarters prior to finalizing the sale to obtain delivery dates. However, I am sharing this story to alert potential customers to be weary to this company and their practices and to NEVER pay upfront!!! BBB is also being informed of this as well.
