Garland Nissan Complaint - One Key - 2009 Pontiac G6 GT

Review by cmcallister on 2011-01-09
HOPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY -- I purchased a 09 G6 from Garland Nissan on 12-31-10. They failed to tell me that whan I purchased the vehicle that it only had one set of keys to it and one fobe. When I asked about it they sent me to Sisk Auto Mall to get a anohter key made and told me that they would help me get it for the at cost price to them. They are now trying to screw me with a key that cost $115. They sell vehicles everyday and they know that vehicles come with 2 sets of keys. I asked about contacting the owner before me and that is when they told me that it was bought at an auction and that was the only set that they received but like I said they sell vehicles evryday they know that they come with 2 sets of keys. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle and will NEVER go bak to them for anything.

You should have checked ebay. The dealers will overcharge you for those keys, because they have chips inside of them. You can pick up these keys on ebay for like 20 bucks, take it to a place to get the key cut, and MOST cars, you can program a new key yourself.

With my car, you must have a dealer for programming a key. Check on the internet, and a message board may contain the answer. It is possible that this dealer screws people on purpose, but it is just as likely only one key came with the used car. It isn't the dealer's responsibility to supply an extra key IMO with a used car.
