Dish Network Complaint - Don't Trust Dish Network
Signed up with promotional two year contract. $15 off for the first year, then regular price for the second. They started trying to get more money from me right from the verybeginning. First months bill came $5 over the advertised rate. Seems they had signed me up for local channels without asking. I intentionally did not include them since my antenna (digital type) picks up local channels. Had them remove it. A year later when rate was supposed to go up $15, it went up $20. Found out they had dumped local channels on me again. This time I was told they could not be removed because they are included in my package now since it hasjust recently been made available in my area. This is obviously not the truth since they had added them onto my account a year earlier. So not only are they charging me for something I can get for free, but they lie about the reason for making me take it.
- Packages may seem like they have a lot of channels, but a lot of them are just music.
- Cloudy weather, rain, snow, sunspots and large bird migrations can make you lose signal. More a disadvantage of satellite service in general than Dish Network specifically. One of the few advantages of cable.
- Menu listings for some converters only goes about 2 days ahead. Those who can afford to get the HD converter get a week. Also, there is a limited number of reminders can be set. Neither of these are big issues, but seem like intentional limitations.
