Massage Envy Complaint - Be Very Careful When Dealing With Massage Envy

Review by contact_email on 2011-01-15
Based on the horrible experience I've had with the Massage Envy "Wellness Program" I consider it a scam and am posting this review to hopefully help others to not get caught up in the same trap. They entice you in with a cheap rate massage and when it's over give you a heavy handed sales pitch to sign up for a monthly massage program. If you make the mistake of doing so you'll likely have a VERY difficult time getting out of it. Many have had to cancel their credit card number to stop the monthly fee from continuing (do a search on the net for others experiences as there are many like mine). I let six months of unused credit rack up and found that when I wanted to cancel the program the hundreds of dollars prepaid would "expire" in 30 days and that I would have to pay an additional $50 to "unsuspend" my account to get access to the money already paid. I don't know if this is legal on their part but at the very least it's unethical and bad business. Buyer beware with Massage Envy! If you go to one of their franchise locations pay cash and get out but PLEASE don't sign up for their monthly program!!!
