Audi A4 - Complaint
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA -- I took my vehicle in for service because it had no power I dropped off the vehicle and they said they would call me back the next day to let me know what was going on. The next day came and no call so when I called they told me that the technicans that we looking at it we off and they will be back the next day. Two days later they called me back and told me that I need a wiring harness and the vehicle is not safe to drive to have the vehicle towed. I went in to pick up my car the next morning and the vehicle wouldn't even make it to the service lane because someone there decieded to burn up my clutch. When I asked what happened they said that no one drove the vehicle they just plugged there computer into my vehicle and it told them that it needs a wiring harness. How can you tell that the vehicle needs a wiring harness if you don't put it op on the lift and look at it yourself. Why am I paying for more than one hour off diag if all they did was plug the computer to my vehicle. The service manager does not listen to customers he listens to his service advisors. The service advisor said that it was the end of the life for the clutch but my car only has 27k on it. I thought that they were smarter than that anyone knows that a clutch much more life than that. Audi said they will not take resonsiblity for the clutch and to move my car in the next hour. I did not have time to call a tow truck right away and they ended up callng a tow truck and they towed it of there lot. I just paid almost 300.00 For diag and know these a holes towed my vehicle. Never take your car to Audi of chantilly there service technicans like to burn your clutches. Never take your vehicle to Audi of chantilly they will just lie to you and take your money.

I don't know about OBD (your onboard computer)reporting that a wiring harness is defective, but based on your complaint (low power) a worn clutch could be the cause. Are there "Miles In" and "Miles Out" entries on the receipt? I find it a little hard to imagine technicians "burning" your clutch.
Have you had the car looked at elsewhere? Based on the symptoms, do you believe the problem could simply be that you need a new clutch?
The clutch *should* last a heck of a lot more than 27K miles, under normal circumstances.
