Tiger Direct Complaint - Tiger Direct Buyers Be Ware

Complaint
Review by Egnet on 2011-01-19
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- Tiger Direct has no Calif. storefront and most likely none in your state either. You can't address a "living" human being as they are with canned policies and protected within the internet. Their responses are a circle of policy and form letter email replys. Don't expect them to be understanding or be sympathetic with your concerns. The cold hard facts are they have a one way policy in addressing returns, and it's their way or the highway. Do yourself and those you refer a favor, look for a storefront US business that has not alienated themselves with a remote international haven. If you are looking to return anything after 30 days regardless - whether the packaging materials forewarn you that opening the package prevents returning forget it. It is still not returnable if un-opened. They will not take it back regardless. It is a scam in bold letters. This company has no intention of building clients. It is a major conglomerate portraying to be a store front business. Cut your losses and go with the likes of Egghead, Fry's, Best Buy, buy American, etc.

I thought they were a part of CompUSA. There is a CompUSA store in my city.

Hi Egnet, Tiger Direct is CompUSA's parent company, having no idea of the issue you're facing I'm hard pressed to advise you. I can tell you I'm a PC tech and the Tiger/CompUSA group is one of my 8 primary suppliers. I share in your frustration of wanting to talk to someone with a pulse rate and IQ rather than something with a clock rate and interactive programming.

My personal rules for on line purchasing, knowledge of the technology, hardware, application and implementation. If there is any possibility I may need support I find a storefront operation. That is still no guarantee, your still at the mercy of the level of education / expertise available in your area and the managements ability to attract and retain that talent.

I assure you I have no affiliation with the Tiger CompUSA group outside of being a small potatoes customer, I just hate to see someone experiencing what you have outlined above.

If your facing a computer issue please feel free to contact me via the "My3cents leave message for" unfortunately consumer electronics is out of my field. Almost any challenge approached with objectivity can be successfully resolved,it is also the first thing frustration deprives us of.

Best wishes and good decisions!

What specifically happened in your case? It sounds like you were trying to return something outside of their return policy. The packaging isn't the place to find warnings about the return policy - that information should be on the website and inspected before you order. I never order from a website that doesn't list a policy.

What commuication did you have in trying to resolve the problem, and what was their response?
