Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Disappointment
I have had a very serious disappointment with my brand new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer. It was purchased the day after Thanksgiving 2010, less than 60 days ago. Today, Lowes came and picked it up, and I was refunded my purchase price, including the price of the extended warranty. The Cabrio Washer did not have an agitator (the tall thing in the middle that moves the clothes around the washtub). Instead, it had a bump in the floor of the washtub. It sounds innocuous. A bump. That bump, technically known as an impeller, ruined three blouses and two sets of sheets. It winds clothes into long twisted ropes. It wads garments into tiny, compressed balls with dry spots inside. It weaves clothes together into macrame. And importantly, it cleans virtually nothing. Your muddy jeans will emerge with mud intact. Your sons stinky football jersey will emerge just as stinky as ever. Interestingly, the washtub starts picking up the stinks and odors of all the dirty stuff you are trying to clean. This requires you to clean your washtub periodically with special products. Does that tell you something? Shouldn't a washer at least know how to keep itself clean? Not this one. It will stink unless you clean it! The tears in my expensive blouses and the fortune I have spent on having things ironed at the corner dry cleaners only add to the exasperation. I have very disappointed and will never buy a HE product again, will never buy a Cabrio brand again, and will never buy a Whirlpool product again.
