Target Complaint - Target Pharmacy - Rude and Humiliating
TUCSON, ARIZONA -- This Target is near my home so I shop there frequently and am totally happy with the store with ONE IMPORTANT EXCEPTION - the Pharmacy. Somehow the staff in this pharmacy is unaware of the concepts of courtesy, customer service, and kindness.
Since I shop there a lot I decided to fill a prescription there and when I went to pick it up it was a comedy of errors. They could not find it under my name. This began a computer search for the item and they found it filled under my previous (married) name. I have been divorced for 4 years and the prescription was not made out in that name. They could not explain this mix up but treated me as though somehow it was my fault.
I asked for the label to be redone and this caused a cascade of hostility starting with the clerk standing at a terminal 15 feet from the counter SHOUTING OUT my personal information for verification. We have your birthdate as XXXXX is that correct? We have your allergies as XXXXX is that correct? Then he also shouted out the name of my medicine. Surely this type of behavior is a violation of my health privacy!
I was humiliated. No apology for the error was ever made. I complained to the store manager (a 20 or 30-something guy) who seemed a little puzzled that this was enough to make me complain. He said, "We've never had any other pharmacy complaints..." which indicates to me that because I was the first, I was probably a crackpot. Obviously, I will never return there for any prescription needs. It's a shame the pharmacy people aren't put through the same courtesy training as the rest of the store personnel.
