Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Buyer Beware
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I rented a car from the 8041 Kingston Pike Knoxville TN 37919-5525 Office on a Wednesday night. I was told by the salesman that this will include roadside assistance, so you can call anytime day or night. (I was thinking that the term "this includes" means not being charged). I denide all additional insurance as my current auto insurance and credit card company covers all additional, when combined. I was in a hurry, so when the salesman went over the charges, he didn't mention additional charges for the roadside assistance, reviewed the fact that I declined the insurance coverages and then had me provide my intials confirming this. He also stated that he had gone ahead and authorized a prepaid fuel which I was not liking, but he had informed me of the rates and I was OK with that.
Upon returning my car I was asked how everything was presented with another form and asked if everything was OK with the car go ahead and sign and we are good to go. WRONG. It turns out that the receipt I signed showed damage waiver, PAI and the roadside assistance at an additional charge. All of the double talk and "watch the hands, the hand is quicker than the eye" mentality has added an additional $92.00 plus additional taxes to the charges. I called their management and he stated that I signed the document which states you agree to all charges. (not the original charges, but the charges pluged in at the time of return).
Buyer Beware and read all information prior to your signing no matter how rushed you are. Read before you drive away in your rental and again prior to you pulling away upon the return. This was a dishonest practice by this office and I fully intend to get this resolved and will be looking into other complaints filed about this office. The current staff may need to be replaced as I have rented from Enterprise for many years and this is my first and only complaint I have ever had. I will be bringing this to the highest levels of Enterprise.
