Sears Complaint - Sears Kenmore Refrigerators
BETHESDA, MARYLAND -- I bought a Kenmore Refrigerator in 2009. It stopped working several weeks ago. I had to wait 2 weeks for service. The technician said that dirt and oil had plugged the copper line that carries coolant to the freezer and that the condenser would have to be replaced at a cost of over $1,000. It seems that Sears used to guarantee the condenser system for 5 years but a few years ago they changed that to one year. I'm sure that by cutting back on the number of technicians and by reducing their guarantee they are making a great profit but I will never buy an appliance from Sears again. By the way the average lifespan for a refrigerator is between 8 and 14 years.
