Sterling/Kohler Plumbing Products Complaint - Sterling Shower Doors are Pure Garbage
KOHLER, WISCONSIN -- I am a handyman around the house, doing my own home improvements. I have bought several Sterling shower doors and installed them. The last two were absolute trash. One leaks like a sieve, and it took several reinstalls with a ridiculous amount of silicone caulking and water diversion cove molding strips to finally stop the leaks. Another door I installed on my tub has a top track that has no mechanism or design feature by which to attach it permanently and securely to the wall jambs. You would think that they would incorporate a flange on the track to screw it securely onto the wall jambs. Nope. I called them and they said it rests on top of the jambs, and to use -- yep -- silicone caulk to secure it. Mind you that this top track has the function of supporting two heavy glass doors. Folks, their product engineers must be smoking crack because you can't get any dumber than that.
Do not buy Sterling products.
