Bank of America Complaint - Bank of America is the worst at MHA modifications!!!!!
I have had a horrible experience with Bank of America! We started our MHA loan modification process in October 2009. I was laid off in February 2009. After 8 mths of struggling to pay the bills (never missed a single house payment) and accruing debt to do so we decided to apply for the MHA loan. First we were told we didn't qualify. Then we received a packet in the mail saying we did qualify and if we did not complete the documents and send them back we would never be offered the ability to do so again. So I scrambled to put everything together and sent it right back. We made all of the trial period payments (only supposed to be three months). However, our trial period went on for a YEAR!!! I requested several escalations. Nothing happened. Continued to call and make our payments and request escalations. They finally sent our packet saying we were approved for a permanent modification, we had to sign the documents, get them notarized and mail them back immediately. So we did. They have had them since September 2010. It is now January 2011 and nothing has been processed. Until they process the modification they continue to report us delinquent to the credit agencies (still have never missed a payment). We are still struggling financially and the hole just keeps getting bigger. I have been able to find some work here and there but have not found a full-time or even permanent part-time job.
I just don't understand why this has to be so difficult. Why are companies like this bailed out and then allowed to continue to take from those who have so little. We have done everything we were asked or told to do. I know life isn't fair but this is just wrong! There are so many people who are in even worse situations then we are. Somebody has to speak up for all of us! It is not right for these type of business practices to be excepted by our society or our government.
