Reebok Complaint - Faded swimsuit

Complaint
Review by madeinusa on 2011-01-27
I am disappointed in the 80.00 swimsuit I purchased late December 2010.
The color is very faded and its only the end or January 2011.It is supposed to
be clorine resistant. I know you can'nt expect the water not to eventually
fade the suit, but only after month?I do love the suit it just looks bad.

I agree, a swimsuit shouldn't fade. Even cheap ones keep their color for a long time. I'd be disappointed too if an expensive swimsuit faded in one month.

very helpful.
one would expect a quality swimsuit to last a few seasons.

is the pool or hottub chlorine levels being checked, and at the proper level?

Always rinse your swimsuit immediately after swimming in a pool or in the ocean. The chemicals will slowly deteriorate the fabric, likewise saltwater. Even though they say the fabric is chlorine resistant, they are not guaranteeing it as inpenetrable. It's the only way to make a suit last.

OP, I hope you aren't cleaning this suit in the washing machine, then tossing it in the dryer. That can hasten the fading. Rinse thouroughly after wearing, and hand wash and line dry.

Errr...edited to add - lay flat to dry.

Good advice, hothead. The dryer not only fades colors but it shortens the life of any kind of spandex material (or whatever bathing suits are made of).

I always use Wool lite, for clothing and it keeps my swimsuits looking as new as that first day I purchased them. As mentioned, it's very important to rinse your suit out after using it, and lay it flat to dry.

Try contacting Reebok.

Nice thing about having your're own pool and spa...don't have to worry about the swimsuit

sorry 'bout that:).....enjoy them while you can. I took off 15 yrs from my goals to get my kids theirs. Son...world class speed skater (wheels), daughter...world class BMX biker (one of the first girls, the boys hated to race her, she is still mean) that retired from racing at 16 to pursue a nursing career. Having to start over with the grandkids and their goals 1 is a basketball player, the other is a golfer.
Man it's fun getting old.
