These are like disposable socks and they cost more than any sock I have ever purchased.
After about 3-4 wears, every sock has a hole in the toe and when I take them off there
is a lot of black cotton flecks all over my feet. The bottom of the socks are thread bear
after 5-6 wears. I have many socks for a year or more than never get holes in the toes
or wear thin like this. They start out comfortable, but need to be thrown out after a few
weeks of wear. I'll never buy Adidas socks again!

This is "my" brand. (When my kids started stealing my generic white socks, I decided that I would have my own brand, and nobody else could wear "my" brand.)
I prefer the thicker ones to the thinner ones, but I have all kinds. I've never had any problems.
I make sure my nails are clipped short. My feet are a smaller size--my daughters wear size 9 and 10, so their socks have to stretch; this may lead to holes.

Oddly enough, I've had the same problem with various types of men's Adidas socks. I usually get holes or rips near the heel/ankle area. Your thread makes me think I'm not alone and that this could be a trend of a poor quality product. Good review!

olie, I think you have a point about the nails. I once wore a hole right through a pair of cashmere socks that I loved--because of a chip on one of my nails that I hadn't noticed. Ugh!
