PayPal Complaint - Never had a selling problem, paypal decides to start holding my funds. - online payment company

online payment company - Complaint
Review by Prince-Caesar on 2011-01-29
As we all know, Paypal is owned by Ebay, and anyone who sells on Ebay knows that Ebay takes a large chunk of money out for fees for selling, and fees for using Paypal. Well, about a month a go, I received an email saying that Paypal is going to start holding funds in my account for 21. yes TWENTY ONE days. Its absolutely ridiculous. I have 80 points on Ebay, have sold everything from 2 dollar DVDs to a 9 THOUSAND dollar camper on Ebay, and NOW they want to hold money from me? Does anyone else think this company is ass-backwards? I have never had a negative, or a claim against me. You would think since they are holding your money for 21 days, they should at least pay you INTEREST on it! Ugh if there was any other online payment company to use on Ebay, I would use it. Unfortunately we all know Ebay and Paypal has a monopoly, so what else can I do? I know this will fall on deaf ears, but just had to get it out of my system. Thanks for listening!

many people have said the same thing.

do you do enough commerce to have your own site? also, godaddy has a commerce page sort of like ebay. then there is 'craigslist' if you dare.

mad, you took the words right out of my mouth.

eh, I dont sell that regularly to create a site like that. I sell things I dont want that I think are worth some money. Ive used craigslist a few times, for large things, like cars or appliances that you generally would not purchase on ebay.

And then there's the local paper, and free community boards.

Since Ebay is great for buyers, and so many people use Ebay, I unfortunately have to use it. I try to incorporate fees into my auctions. One other problem I have with Ebay, is their maximum shipping charges. Ive sold some things on Ebay that has a maximum you can charge for shipping...which ends up cutting into my principle because shipping ends up costing a lot more than what their maximum shipping charge is.

local paper? I live in a small town. Theres no point in using services like that.

I completely agree. I've been lucky, paypal never holds my funds. I don't think someone with a clean selling record should have to deal with that. They do that so buyers can decide they don't want an item for no reason at all and you have the money in the account to give back to them lickety split. Such BS.

That happened to me, too. But if you receive positive feedback or you provide tracking info, I believe they'll release the funds earlier.

hmmm they give me my money instantly wonder if it has to do with the feedback that you have.
