Lady Of America Complaint - Unexplained charges, poor customer services

Review by berg on 2011-01-31
TAMARAC, FLORIDA -- I had a 3 year contract with Lady of America health club in Tamarac, Fl. when I tried to inform the health club that I did not want to renew the contract when it ended in November, 2010. The club claimed that they had no awareness of the two telephone calls that I had made or of the letter that I had written. I finally sent a letter registered mail. Then, I began to receive nasty telephone calls prebilling for the last 3 months of the contract. They threatened to "ruin" my credit. After I paid the last 3 months of the contract. They then billed me $45 and did not response to my requests asking for a explanation for the $45 I was being billed. I have never been given a explanation. When I tried to talk to them club owner, Joe Ervin, he was rude and surly. He hung up on me in our last conversation without explaining the $45 charge. I contacted the owner of the franchise and never received a response. The checks I wrote for the final 3 months of the contract have all cleared my credit union. This club is located on 6738 North University Drive, in Tamarac, Fl.

I'm not sure I were trying to cancel your contract and didn't pay the charges for the final three months?

If you paid them late, the charge might be a late fee. Check your contract to see if there's mention of late fees, etc.
