TotalProtect.com Complaint - Total Protect.com Fort Lauderdale FL. a fraudulent, devious, criminal Corp.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- A very sweet 70 year old Seattle WA woman purchased this home warranty insurance from TotalProtect.com in 2004. Account# 57114130. Her York Heat Pump failed in the spring of 2010. She called Total Protect. They sent a mickey mouse heating contractor out to look at the heat pump. No uniforms, no logo on truck, no class or decorum. Mickey said: "The unit's compressor failed and it will be better to replace the unit." Many months passed and winter came. The 70 year old woman is now beginning to freeze as winter sets in. No word from TotalProtect; no word from the Heating Contractor. The woman gets bids from other Heating Contractors. The bids to replace the unit are in the 10 to 16 thousand dollar range. Total Protect finally states ONLY verbally and ONLY over the phone that they will pay $1000 towards the replacement of the Heat Pump. Moreover, Total Protect will give her not one cent until they receive a copy of the receipt for the installation. The Heating Contractor Total Protect contracts with is incapable of that magnitude of Heat Pump work and intimated that to the 70 year old woman. Now it is the spring of 2011 and this woman is freezing with no heat.

When the 70 year old woman calls TotalProtect in Fort Lauderdale FL. she is greeted warmly and treated to meaningless empty Southeastern hospitality. She hangs up feeling all war and fuzzy relieved they are on their way--and months go by and nothing happens. That is how TotalProtect.com takes care of its customers.

Advice: NEVER buy insurance from a company not based in your state.

Never do business with TOTALPROTECT.COM

Go to http://www.myfloridalegal.com, click on consumer protection and then on consumer complaint form to report this. Be aware they probably will want the person who experienced this event (or their designated representative) to file the actual complaint.
