DirecTV Inc Complaint - Clueless tech support
Resolution Update on 07/08/2011:
Our satellite TV service went out on 2 of 3 receivers. I called tech support and the guy I spoke with suggested it was because those 2 receivers were old and no longer supported. (Shouldn't we be notified if our equipment is too old and in need of upgrade? I digress.) Anyway, he connected me to someone else, and because we have been customers for 10 years they kindly waived the service call fee of $49. How nice!
Anyway, turns out some of the outdoor connectors from satellite dish had gone bad and needed replacement. I really wish these tech people would just not give these ridiculous explanations when they have no clue about what they are saying.
