Advantage Nissan Complaint - Greedy & Liars - 2011 Nissan Juke

Review by Jagga on 2011-02-09
WESTBURY, NEW YORK -- On 1/26/2011, I called Advantage Nissan located at 939 Old Country Road and spoke with Steve. I told him I was looking for a red Juke SL model and he told me he has that particular vehicle for me and so we set an appointment for 1/29/11 for 1pm. I told him I'm coming from far to get the vehicle so do not let me waste my time to get there and he does not have it. When I got there, he has the red Juke, but a SV model (w/o leather seats, heated heats, power seats, fog lights, and no back up camera) I took the car because I can survive without those amenities. Steve then gave me a NMAC application for credit to complete, I told him I already have a check from my bank and is already approved and did not need their credit. He said OK, I would still need to complete it in the event my bank would not honor my check and they were not able to verify that on a Saturday and they needed that security, I agreed. Steve said to me, the finance guy will meet with me to offer me additional warranty and I should decline the offer because the vehicle already comes with manufacture warranty and the dealer is only trying to make money that way. So I met with Mike (finance guy)and told him I do not want to do anything with him but he insisted. He told me and my wife that he could get us a deal with NMAC (Nissan Motors Acceptance Corporation for the same price including additional warranty at 2.9%. I told him how is that possible when my bank is offering me a higher rate? his response was he works with them and he can get that, so I excused myself from the room and spoke to Steve and explained the deal offered to me, he said take it. I went back to Mike and asked if he would need to run my credit again, he said no, he will take the information from my bank and use those same numbers.

I left the dealership with my new vehicle then called him on Monday 1/31 to see if the deal was OK with NMAC, he said no and I was OK with that. On 2/2/11, I ran my credit report to see my credit score and noticed Mike ran my credit 8 time total through all 3 credit bureaus. I was very furious when I saw this and could not wait until the next day to confront him over the phone about this. When I called he refused to take my calls and I even had the receptionist transferred me to his voice mail and still no response. On Saturday, 2/5/11, he refused to take my call and so I drove all the way to Westbury to confront him, he was so shocked to see me. He said he never got my calls neither the one on voicemail, now I know he's lying. I showed him my credit reports and apologized but said he doesn't know how that happened, then he said he needed to do that in order to secure their interests since I was leaving with a $25000 car and they were not able to verify my check. He offered to give me the free warranty he was trying to sell me but his manager (???) came in and said they did nothing wrong because I signed the credit application. I answered yes I signed but not for credit, only because it was only if there was a problem with my check which they never attempted to verify until 1/31 as per my bank. My bank said they were there until after 7pm that day because of their relationships with dealers so that division stays open late even on the weekends. They did not contact the bank because they were trying to get the loan through their bank because they get rewarded financially for doing so.

Today is 2/9/11 and I still do not have a single piece of paper for my Juke except for the insurance ID card. I keep hearing it will be mailed to me as they were not able to finalize payment of my check. My bank called them yesterday to find out when are they going to cash the check so they can fund their account and they are not answering my bank either. This is one of the worst experience I have ever encountered with a dealership. I have contacted the NYS AG office and is awaiting for the application to file the complaint.
