Kohl's Complaint - Corporate Refund Phoneline
I returned a watch without a receipt on Jan 17. The value was too high to get an in-store refund or credit, so I was issued a "Corporate Refund". At the bottom, it stated that "if you have not received a response in 7-10 days", call an 800 number. After 20 days of no response, I called the number. I was told that my hold time would be 15.0 minutes (the computer was very exact and actually said the ".0" on the end. 38 minutes later someone answered the phone. They said that they needed more information from me, and then told me that they would do the refund as a "one-time" special deal, even though the store I returned it to treated my return like it was a standard practice. I was told on the phone that there was a limit on the value that could be returned without a receipt, so hold onto it from now on. Except the lady was not allowed to tell me what that limit was. And the watch was a gift and I never had a receipt for it. The watch was new in box, with all the protective plastic and price stickers still on it.
This was a lot more difficult than it should have been to return an item to a store like Kohl's that prides itself in accepting any return with no time limit. The "yes I can" attitude of the store employees towards customer service obviously doesn't apply to the phone customer service employees.
