Europcar Complaint - Fraudulent billing despite full prepayment
ST.QUENTIN EN YVELINES -- In July 2010 I prepaid $240.32 Cdn. for a four-day rental of a EuropCar to be picked up in Marseilles and dropped off in Nice. The agent in Marseilles claimed not to understand what a PREPAID VOUCHER was, even though it was written in English and French. I did get my car, and returned it as agreed upon in Nice four days later.
Two days later EuropCar France billed my VISA account (given to them with my 400 Euro deposit) for $161.88.
Six months later I am still waiting for a rebate of the extra charges. I received a credit for $98, which was offset three days later with a debit of $104. Another $6 lost. EuropCar Vacances are supposed to be handling this but after two weeks I still have no resolution and I am still out $161.88 for double billing. Moreover, if the total cost for the four day rental was only $161.88, why was I charged $240.32 for the same rental period by EuropCar Vacances in Montreal.
FRAUD ARTISTS. Beware and do NOT deal with EuropCar!
