Lupient Chevrolet Complaint - Misrepresentation - Car sale

Review by lmnephew on 2011-02-10
BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA -- I purchased a vehicle from Lupient Chev on 12/31/10. When we took the car for a test drive there was a noise, the sales person said yes it needs this one repair and showed us a bid. I thought great they are being upfront! I bought the car with taking the repair into consideration when making my offer ( I also added some to the repair amount for the unexpected). Well they totally had the problem wrong! And it was not like it was hard to find. My trusted mechanic and family friend found a very LARGE problem in a short amount of time. Turns out the car is a piece of junk. So the only thing I can think of it that either the mechanics at the dealership are really bad at their job or the sales person lied. Very disappointing.

hopefully you took your car to the mechanic before you bought it not after right? Never trust a car dealer to give you the str8 skiinny.

I took a car for a test drive waaaaaay back in 1984 at a Nissan dealer. It was a 280Z. I knew I wanted that model, but on the test drive there was a problem with the clutch and another problem I can't recall.

The salesman assured me the problems would be taken care of before I picked the car up. I assured him that I would be back, and then bought the same model at another dealer.

IMO, it is wise to bid on the car you want, not the one that may be transformed into the one that you want.

Tought to add anything more than Dan & trmn8r...but I agree that when spending that kind of money, spend a little more by having the car checked by a mechanic of your choosing. Usually less than $100. Not a bad investment for such a pricey purchase.
