Best Buy Complaint - Expensive, Dishonest, Technical Incompetence
SPARKS, SPANISH SPRINGS, NEVADA -- Took my computer in fot service. Requested replacement of hard drive, reinstall WEindows 7 and restore saved files. Computer was working OK when they received it. They called and said the cpmputer had stopped working, they could not boot it up. Tyhey told me the motherboard was bad.
They said they had tested the power supply, the video card, Memory and power switch all were good. They could not replace motherboards so I was to come get the computer and they would refund my prepayment of $280.00.,
I got the computer and took it to a Microsoft certified Technician. After he tested everything, he told me the power supply was bad, the same power supply the Geeks tested and said was good. The technician put in a new power supply, installed the new hard drive, installed Windows 7 and restored my saved files. The charge was $250.00. This included the price of the new power supply.
I then went on line to fill out the Best Buy satisfaction survey....when I entered my order number it said that the survey was already completed.
It is obvious to me that someone at Best Buy filled out my survey so that there would not be a bad survey that reflected badly on them. I notofied the Operation Mahanger of all the above facts.
I have been a good customer of Best buy, but no longer. I would rscommend to anyone that has a computer problem not to go to the Geek Squad, they are way too expensive and really know little about real computer problems. Call instead one of your local Microsoft Certified Technicians.
