Ramada, Ontario, CA Complaint - BAIT and SWITCH - Room Rate

Review by Villani on 2011-02-11
ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA -- I was quoted a room rate of $47 by Ramada's owner/manager Chris. This was suppose to be a price match for motels in the area with the same amenities. There were several phone calls between Chris, my son & I where this rate was quoted. Upon check out Chris charged the rate of $58+tax and not the $47+tax. When I spoke to him about this he claimed he never quoted this price and complained that there were "too many calls" for this reservation. The corporate office in NJ basically said it was his word against mine. Great customer service. I have filed complaints with the BBB in NJ and in CA.

Don't stay there unless you get a confirmation of price in writing. He never sent us a confirmation. Should have been a red flag.

Yes, always make sure you receive the confirmation, with the confirmed price you were quoted.

As for the BBB, don't waste your time. They are NOT there for the consumer.

That's not a bait and switch. You were simply overcharged.

You took the words out of my mouth, OP. Trust no one and always get it in writing. If you think you have a real case, you'd be better off filing a complaint with the Attorney General. B&S is kinda hard to prove at this point because it'll be your word against theirs.
