Communication & Commerce LLC Complaint - Unethical employment standards
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- I would like to formalize a complaint against a company Communications and Commerce, LLC. The company has locations in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Communications and Commerce is based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. The company is an outsourced call center providing inbound services to various organizations such as Microsoft, CRV (Providian Financial), Sprint PCS, US Cellular, and others.
This company is making progress in being state of the art, however the practices utilized with their employees, and the lack of communication and respect for humans is unreal. Throughout the course of my 6 month employment, I saw numerous unjust terminations, and I'm sure with proper investigation would result in numerous EEOC complaints as well as labor board complaints, in all locations.
The one thing an organization can do to properly enhance an employee is to pay them correctly, this company had no value in ensuring this was done, promised bonuses to employees, who to my knowledge have to date not received them.
In addition, an account maintained by this company was Voicestream Wireless Customer Care and Activations, toward the end of August, Voicestream ceased it's relationship with this company, all the employees in 4 different call centers were given no notice, and yet given the opportunity to 'apply' for a position within the company. No guarantee of employment was made. In September, the Microsoft Project in Indianapolis was merged back with Utah, and yet all employees were advised as late as Fri 9/14/01, that the project was secure, doing well, and in no jeopardy. On Monday 9/17/01, the project terminated by 145pm, all these employees were either let go, or given the opportunity to 'apply' for positions with another contract. In addition if you were supervisor level, you went to entry level with a 45% reduction in pay, reduced seniority, higher out of pocket expense for medical insurance with no option to get out of it. In an attempt to force resignation? Those that were terminated, are now having to fight for their unemployment benefits as the company states 'they offered them another position, and they declined?'
Our country is at war, the majority of the workforce is at a standstill, and yet, the lack of communication, the brazenness of the leaders of this organization, and yes there was brutality, in and of the fact that the tones displayed by the leaders of this organization bordered on harassment. We now have more than hundreds of people in multiple states having issues rejoining the workforce, and yet this company wants to fight the unemployment benefit? The tiny amount that is there to help families sustain barely, until another job is located? The August lockout of the Voicstream People was held on Indianapolis Television WTHR Channel 13.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I would like for this company to be investigated and forced to follow the norm on EEOC and labor laws. I would like for them to comply with the official 'warrant' in which a massive loss of jobs is given some type of fair notice. I would like to see that this company, realizes that they put thousands of people out of jobs, and to fight their unemployment during a time of national disaster is beyond unjust. The majority of people that work for them are single parents. I would prefer to anonomys through this should the investigation ensue. I am doing this not for myself, but to preserve the integrity of those people losing jobs.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
