Target Complaint - Online Shopping, Always out of stock.
Twice I have "bought" items online from Target, and twice they have cancelled items from my shipment for them no longer being in stock, which doesn't sound like much of a complaint, but they shouldn't allow for you to make orders for items they don't have, they really need to work on timeliness of order fulfillment, because this was one mistake too many for me. I have NEVER had this issue with anyone else's online stores.
The first time they did this, I had shopped in the store and couldn't find the jacket I wanted in my size, so I came home and ordered it online on September 21,2010. They set the ship date for December 31 2037, and I attributed the date error to a bug. Still, everything else was in my order, everything else was shipped in separate shipment, and nothing changed in the status for awhile. it wasn't until after multiple visits to the site to review the status that one day it just vanished!No email informing me of the status or the cancellation, no NOTHING- it was as if it never happened!
I emailed them on October 8th, which was 2.5 weeks later and when I found out, and they were like oh, so sorry, it's out of stock, so it was removed. - removed without informing the customer???? All the time I spent waiting was time I could have spent visiting other Target stores, time that when I went back to the store, I discovered that the jacket was no more- anywhere!
And to make up for it, they bandaid it with a $10 gift card, which doesn't make up for the false expectations and disappointment and time wasted. That first time I was very upset, but wanted them to fix their systems so it wouldn't happen again. No mysterious missing order items!
Months later, here I am, making another order- one being shipped in multiple packages, fine by me.
"Unfortunately, the following item is not currently available from
any of our sources.
We have cancelled this item from your order and can't say for sure
if it might be back in stock. If you are still interested please
check back every once in a while to see if it's available."
I placed my order January 31st, and I received this notification on February 14th.
On the one hand at LEAST they emailed me this time, but it still took them 2 weeks to figure out that they no longer have the item. More precious time wasted, more unfulfilled expectations.
Thanks a lot Target, I'm not doing online business with you ever again.
