Home Depot Complaint - Employee Treatment
POPLAR BLUFF, MISSOURI -- On april 6,2005 store #3033 in poplar bluff missouri terminated their lumber and building materials department manager, I will call him frank; this employee was an excellent employee in the 21 months that he worked with home depot he did not miss a day-he was sent home by a manager due to illness. He earned seven merritt badges, was listed in the top ten in the nation in sales for millworks at least 4 weeks. On his first evaluation he received a "b" which is an above average evaluation. Then a new manager comes on board and this new manager who is from the st louis area, tells him at his yearly evaluation that he doesn't hold his employees accountable enough. This manager gave him 60 days to improve after 3 weeks he was told things were much better. Then bam!! They terminated him. His fellow associates where shocked! One of his asst managers was shocked and had no idea that this was even happening.
Home depot has published on its website that they live their values, well that is a load of crap. How do you figure that they live their values when they terminate a good employee who has a family that needs insurance and his pay to survive. Then to make matters worse they have cheated him, the week before he was terminated he had training in st louis and now they wont pay him his mileage. Isn't that theft!
