Priceline.com Complaint - Hotel Reservation and rates
I booked a hotel room for San Diego wanting a room downtown but ended up with a room far from where I needed it (there is a little line of shading that extends beyond the area I needed). Accepting that as something I could live with, I called the hotel and asked for a room with a view, they told me that because I booked through a third party they would not grant or even enter any requests. I then told the hotel the rate I got from Priceline and asked if they offered a similar rate - that told me that they had the exact same rate available as a "pre-paid" rate and if I was willing to pay in advance they would give me the same rate AND I could make requests.
I called Priceline and the refused to cancel the reservation - or even offer a credit for me to use another time.
Avoid them, no matter what happens they refuse to work with customers and refuse to offer credits or negotiate in any way.
I have used Priceline a lot in the past and have been a loyal customer, this means nothing to them at all. I even stated I would be willing to accept a credit- just cancel this reservation - even this they refused.
Horrid customer service - don't use them, call the airlines or hotel first, ask about pre-paid rates.
Now, on to the next review site I can find...
