Review by Markeithais99 on 2011-02-17
MANNING, SOUTH CAROLINA -- Just having a problem getting my insurance cancel. I told my job that I can't afford insurance no more and need it drop. Got to much coming out my check... and not making a whole lot of money. I believe that I have a right to drop my insurance at any giving time that I feel like it. The lady in the human resource department is giving me the run around and want me to call the hr department in Hanover, MD. I feel that not my job that what she get pay for right? Please help me in this matter to get something done about this.

Unless the laws have changed, you need to wait for open enrollment to cancel (unless you have had a qualifying event like birth of a child, divorce, etc)

Moved From Other Review: On 2/16/2011 of my issue the plant manager call me in his office and threatened me told me if I go back to the human resources office he will blank and fired me. He told me to blank and come to him first. I feel very distraught about that matter and civil rights have been violated. So I took it to another level and wrote to the SC Human Affairs Commission and Department of Labor. 1. Because no one can talked to you like that we as employees have rights. 2. Been working there about 2 years and me and others is not getting there right pay. Just getting off 8.00 per hr and at 9.00 per hr. But in the contract they tell us you suppose to get a raise every 90 days. But when the supervisor hired there families in there. Start them off making 10 or 11 dollars per hr. It a lot of favoritism here with there family. On top of that the supervisor wife worked there just started last December and miss 22 days already but if one of us miss that much they let us go in a quick second.
