Humana Complaint - Beware if you change your plan and you have automatic withdrawal
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- Today I received two notices in the mail from Humana One saying I have past due balances. I thought this was odd since they’ve been automatically withdrawing payment from my bank account for over a year. Turns out that because I changed my plan (added dental) the automatic withdrawal processes doesn’t get automatically updated. Of course no one told me that. The letter stated that I was 10 days away from loosing my health insurance!
I also found out they charged me a fine for late payments (note that I had to press them on this, they did not tell me this right away and they do not tell you in the letter about the fine). After we got it all straightened out, the customer service representative said to avoid this next time I should sign up for automatic withdrawal. I AM SIGNED UP FOR THAT AND THIS WHOLE MESS STILL HAPPENED. Customer service rep’s response, “well yes.”
