Personal Care Coventry Health Care Plan Complaint - Do they pay for anything?

Review by David972 on 2011-02-18
LONDON, KENTUCKY -- My employer changed to the Personal Care Insurance of Illinois/ Coventry Health Care insurance company at the beginning of 2011. I went to get my BP meds refilled in Jan 2011 and the price with this new company was $15.00 higher for the refills.

I went to get my refills this month (Feb 2011) and now I'm informed that they won't pay for the class of BP meds that I have to use. Their stance is get something cheaper even though there isn't a generic for what I take for high blood pressure.

What makes it even worse is that I am paying them each month to tell me that they won't cover this or that. I can't opt out of our companies healthcare plan until 2012.
RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds just like Medco!

More and more health insurers are removing high cost medications from their approved formulary list. My personal belief is that this is in anticipation of the increased costs they will see with the Government's intervention in health care.
