Home Depot Complaint - Bait and Switch Promotional
I purchased a washer and dryer for my rental house in Norwalk Connecticut on or around 7/9/10. I was told by the salesman that it would be interest free for 12 months. I said ok, and completed the transaction. Now, it is Feb 19th, and I log into check my account and make a payment, and all of a sudden I have an $83 interest charge on my account. I send an email to customer service, and they reply in a very cold and impersonal email and tell me it is a 6 month period, and if it is not paid in full at the end of 6 months, all interest from day 1 is due. In the past, I have bought a garden tractor, built a shop, bought a different washer and dryer, and had my house insulated. It has always been 12 months. I chose the paperless statement option, and only log on to my account long enough to pay my bill, and never open my statement pdf's (I know, my bad) but I am raising a baby and my time is valuable. Home Depot should have not done this bait and switch to me, and could have at least sent an email to let me know my promotional time was ending. I hope they go bankrupt! It's Lowe's for me from now on!
