DirecTV Inc Informative - BEWARE!
TUCSON, ARIZONA -- Anyone even remotely considering changing out cable for DirecTV should be aware that what the sales representative promises and what actually happens with the service you get are *not* the same!
*** BE AWARE that they DON'T tell you that you will only be able to pause and rewind live TV with ONE receiver, therefore on ONE TV only! I was promised repeatedly that my DirecTv service would be exactly the "same" as what I had on Comcast---only better programming, better picture quality, more HD, cheaper price, etc...
When the installer arrived and asked, "On WHICH TV do you want to be able to pause/rewind live TV?" I said "both---just as I can presently do with Comcast." He said (and so did 4 customer service reps and 3 supervisors) that in order to do that, I'd have to spend $299 for an additional HD DVR! This is bogus---like a bait and switch---in order to get what the consumer is promised, you have to pony up more money bigtime!
Also, check out what is and isn't available for their ON DEMAND feature. It runs thru your computer bc there is obviously no cable. I was told that popular movies can take up to 4 days-1 week to download ("because everyone wants them when they first come out") Is that REALLY what you expect when you think you are getting ON DEMAND???
The customer service agents were rude, unreasonable, and unknowledgeable.
BE VERY CAREFUL! You have to sign a 2 yr contract, and if you decide to change or drop it there is a $20/month charge until the contract term ends. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING when dealing with them! Verify and reverify EVERYTHING!
