Delta Airlines Complaint - Baggage Handling - Mis-Information to customers about baggage handling from HI to JAPAN
HONOLULU, HAWAII -- Aloha! The ticket agent in Hawaii is giving wrong information pertaining my baggage pickup. My baggage on my return trip from Hawaii to Okinawa was tagged OKA (Okinawa),& when I asked the agent when did they start this procedures? Normally, I have to clear customs with my baggage at the point of entry, in this case Narita International Airport. The agent said, "no, when I arrive in Okinawa is where I pickup my baggage." When I arrived in Narita, I just happened to pass by the baggage carousal & there was my baggage going around. I picked it up & proceeded to ANA counter for my trip to my last leg of my trip. They (ANA) said, "no, I have to clear customs here (Narita), & process my baggage to Okinawa." What would have happened if I didn't see my baggage on the carousal & proceeded to Okinawa! This happened to me twice. The second time when the OKA tag went on my baggage I told the agent what happened the first time & the agent said not to leave the baggage claim area in Narita & check it in the continuation (something like that) flight area/section. There is no such thing & when I asked about my baggage & what Hawaii Delta Agent said, they said, "Hawaii was giving me wrong information!" Anyway, before travelers who are going to Okinawa get there baggage lost, Hawaii's Delta Agents need to get the right information out to their travelers going to Okinawa. Mahalo!
