Wal-Mart Complaint - Amigo electric shopping carts vs. Walmart
OFALLON, ILLINOIS -- Yesterday (feb 21, 2011) I went to Walmart with my wifes shopping list. when I began going theree it was because they provided electric shopping carts and I can just barely walk. over the last 8 to 10 weekss, once I get to the back end of the store for pet food, the cart runs out of juice. the greeters were always helpful as they could be and it got to the point that they would meet me at the door with a cart that was charged all night, however it performed the same as one that had been charging for half an hour. I took my cell phone with me on the day in question and when it quit, I called amigo (their ## is printed all over the cart and told them that I was stuck in a store and would they please come and rescue me from their defective product. a couple of employees I knew from shopping there so much came by and suggested I speak directly to the gm. they pointed out that he was standing behind me about 10 feet away and totally ignoring me in favor of a peice of paper. I hollered for him to come to me and acting visibly annoyed for someone daring to speak to the little napolean I told him the story of their buggies and at first, he denied it saying that service crews were in the store at least twice a month. I pulled out my phone and told amigo what he said and the amigo guy asked for the store # upon checking it, he said that this store had not requested service since September 2010. I told the manager that someone was lying to me and he tried to physically throw me out of the store.(hard to do when a little 5 ft. tall pipsqueak tried to make a 6ft 3" person who couldn't walk out. I gave him the phone and suggested that he and the amigo representative get together and try to take care of us cripples instead of throwing us out of his store. I don't know how much good that did but when he handed me the phone back, he said that they were making arrangements for a service tech to come out and repair the buggies.(this also, however made a liar out of him because it totally refuted his initial statement).
my old daddy had a saying that folks get "too big fer their britches" and I would bet at least two bits that Walmart has got too big for its britches.
