Maacco Complaint - Wrong side racing strip

Review by bulldogblitz on 2011-02-23
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI -- On 2/14/2011 I took my wife's 2001 pontiac grand am to get repainted for a anniversary gift. She also wanted a racing strip from license plate to license plate ON THE DRIVER SIDE. He said it will take about three to four days to complete. I paid for it in full and It took a week. And when I got the car back the the paint job was ok but they put the racing strip was ON THE WRONG SIDE. The first thing I asked the painter why is the racing strip on the passenger side, his reply was that it did not look right to him so he put it on the passenger side. told him that was not what I wanted. I took a picture with my phone and forwarded to my wife. She was not happy. I picked her up from work. And when she saw the car she told the store manager (Sam DEBESAI)that she wanted the racing on the other side. He went and got the painter and he lied saying that was the side I picked when I told Sam and even showed him (the painter)exactly were I wanted it put. The next time I will be sure NOT go maacco. You don't go to Mcdonld's and order a double quarter pounder and get a big mac. You probably will if go to maacco avoided that place find a better auto body shop

For the amount of money that was probably involved, I wouldn't have brushed this off so easily. At the very least, they should have rectified the situation and made good on your original request.

I assume the instructions were IN WRITING. They should be, for custom work. "Racing stripe, mauve, 5" wide and centered 12" off center towards driver's side." If so, it should be easy to prove who is mistaken. If not, I don't know what to tell you.
