Homeside Lending Complaint - Fraudulent

Complaint
Review by hockeymaw8@aol.com on 2001-10-31
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- As a honest consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.

We paid off our mortgage with Homeside Lending 08/31/01. Homeside provided the followin payoff break down to Security Title:
Principle: 170,654.63
Interest: 6,348.41 thru 09/13/01
Late fees: 276.75
Impound Acct: 409.45
Prop. Insp.: 32.25
Taxes: 795.35
Homeside processed this payoff on 09/07/01. I obtained a loan history after, and noticed that 6059.11 was applied for interest, and they did not show a tax payment from escrow. I also realized that taxes for 01/01/01-08/31/01 we withheld by Security Title from our proceeds. Homeside did not need to collect taxes. I have verified with the tax office that 2000 taxes have been paid as of 04/01/01, and they have not recieved a payment of 795.34. The overpayment of the interest is 289.30. These two amounts total 1084.64 that we overpaid. On the same day that Homeside processed our payoff they also posted a 'fee' to our account for 1084.64. I have tried to get details concerning this fee from Homeside via fax, phone calls, and e-mail, but no one will help. This was obviosly a made up fee to cover the overpayment we made.

As a resolution, I would like the following:

refund from Homeside in the amount of 1084.64

Please feel free to contact me if you would like more details regarding this incident.
