KMD Home Improvement Complaint - Beware of this Contractor

Review by Spinlady on 2011-02-24
FLUSHING, NEW YORK -- If you're living in one of the 5 boros of NYC and are contemplating a home renovation or any construction by KMD Home Improvement in Flushing, NY, please contact me for a heads up on our experiences with this contractor and his below par overall work before signing a contract with this company.

After listening to our experiences, you can make up your own mind as to whether you want to sign on the bottom line.

Update 7/5/2011:

This company did an extensive renovation of my home in 2010. The workmanship was definitely not first-rate, in fact the individuals employed by the owner of this company didn't speak English (extremely limited comprehension and spoken English), their work was not even remotely professional and every day the owner of the company spoke to them to give them instructions as to what to do and how to perform their assigned tasks.

They would only take orders from the owner and if there was a problem, we had to call the owner to come to our home and explain to his men what they were doing wrong and how we wanted the work to be done. Please free to contact me by e-mail (TBanyai78@aol.com) where I would go into more detail about the experiences and problems we encountered with this company. One more important thing, at the completion of our project and before we paid the final installment of what we owed to the contractor, we discovered that he had cheated us out of more than $6,000. After informing the contractor that we would go to the Queens DA office with the proof we had, he never contacted us again for the money we owed him.

Providing some "heads up" information would have been nice.

I'm guessing they didn't provide details because then the contractor would be able to identify the poster. They could be still trying to get their issues resolved with the contractor.
