Ashley Furniture Complaint - Ashley Furniture AKA third circle of Hell
NORTH CAROLINA -- 02-17-11 I picked out four pieces of furniture each of which was not in stock. The salesman kept running back to the computer to check on each small sofa I chose to see if it was in "stock". The only in stock sofa was a much larger and more expensive. I relented and purchased the sofa with next day delivery. The next morning I received a call from "customer service" advising that my sofa would be delivered between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. At 1:56 pm, the delivery man pounded on my door and took a brief look then advised that they would not be able to fit the sofa inside. So without further word, off went my sofa to spend more time with the delivery men, Without further direction as to what I should do. I was very upset and had to undergo further humiliation by having to speak guest service representative "Nicole". Then the store manager, Michele advised that she would return my money thru a credit transfer but she would have to deduct the restock fee 56.00. Yes, folks I got pay 56.00 dollars in this economy for a sofa to take a joy ride. But then later on, I determined that Michele did not know that their accounting department could not do a credit transfer back to my account. I had to return to the store in order to get my refund, but I got a full refund and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Gist is, they are incomptent, lazy, and rude. I don't feel that I won, I lost a whole day of work, was extremely upset and traumatized by the whole event.
