Priceline.com Complaint - Bogus reservation and slow refund
Booked a single night stay at a Marriott in Atlanta via PriceLine for Friday, 2/25/11. Got to the hotel and was told there was no reservation. Luckily got a room anyway, and billed it to different credit card / name than the one for PriceLine reservation. (Same price as Priceline quote, and ended up being discounted further.)
Sure enough, Monday morning the charge was on the original card for the bogus PriceLine reservation. Contacted Priceline, they said call hotel. Called Hotel, they said call PriceLine. Called Priceline back and finally got them to say they would send a credit. 5 to 7 days from now. Didn't take that long to charge it. So they get use of that money for a week or more.
Also, the desk clerk at the Marriott, who was very nice and helpful, said that they seem to have a lot of those ficticious reservations from PriceLine, especially on the weekends.
Makes me wonder how many times a week they do this and use people's money. How often do people not think to check behind them and go a month until their statements come out before doing anything about it, if ever? Very lucrative mistakes.
Definitely will NOT USE PRICELINE AGAIN!!!
