ABC Channel 7 Informative - Channel 7 Sound
NEW YORK -- The background music is so loud that you can not understand the script spoken by the actors.
This is a channel 7 NY Problem because if I switch to channel 6 Philadelphia it goes away.

I'm with you... why do they put music over dialog on TV shows?... Is the wording so ill scripted they want to drown it out?... I wrote a review about the very same thing on National Geographic DVD's...

check your TV sound system in the manual. You may have a setting for something like Simulated Surround or ambient noise control. its possible that what your hearing on one channel is simply a setting on your tv. why is one station different? well, its possible that channel 7 is broadcasting with,in lay-mens terms, in a fuller signal that channel 6 is not. if you TV has a complex speaker system you may need to adjust it. check the manual see what it says.

Try adjusting the audio on your TV. In this case I would shut down the bass boost and shut down the surround sound. Surround sound is sometimes called expansion sound. These are located on the menu under audio control. You may be satisfied with operating the TV in mono sound. Try this and see if this is better.
