Long John Silver's Restaurants Complaint - Not Honoring Their Coupons - Coupons

Complaint
Review by billhuds on 2011-03-03
GEORGIA -- On March 2, 2011 I visited my local Long John Silver's / Toco Bell at 3010 Eagle Dr. Woodstock, Ga 30189 phone: 770-924-3869. I presented them with a coupon that I got off of the official LJS web site. They would not honor this coupon.

Did they tell you why they wouldn't honor the coupon?

Need more info. Did it have an expiration date? Was it for specific items? Maybe it's one of those things where each franchisee can choose to participate in promotions or sales or coupons.

That's very possible, Lord. In that instance, the consumer has to push the issue. I went to the movies with my sister-in-law a few years ago and she had a coupon. She handed the clerk the coupon, he said it wasn't accepted and she just took it back and paid for the ticket. When I found out, I was like, why didn't you even ASK him why it wasn't accepted?? The meek supposedly shall inherit the earth, but they don't get much on a daily basis.

I can only assume the person manning the register at this particular LJS is a my3cents member. I wish I would have known before commenting. Still since I'm pretty sure the LJS in question takes the official online coupons then its not crazy to say the fault here lies with the person manning the register.

One phrase to watch for in any coupon or advertising: "Availiability and price at participating restaurants." On the south side of Coolidge, AZ, is a big billboad that always has advertising for McDonald's. They advertise a special that is being promoted nationwide, but ask for it at the Mickey Dee's two miles from the sign, and they are not a paticipting restaurant. There is no rquirement for franchisee's to toe the company line on promotions.

I can only imagine that this is a case of this franchise not taking coupons. They do in fact have a right to deny corporate coupons.
