Dunkin Brands Complaint - Good Donuts - Fair Coffee - Bad Scene

Review by jerryishome on 2011-03-03
Dunkin Donuts Robbery Nov 2008 Delray Beach Fl.

The store was robbed by members of The Cripps Gang. I was a customer. After taking the money they shot three people. I was shot in the face with a shotgun. I am still recovering.

Dunkin Donuts makes no effort at security. They invite customers and gamble with their lives. They gambled with mine. Next it could be you.

This is a dangerous place to be at night. they are the only ones open. They are the target. They never even contacted me after the shooting.

My best defense and yours too. "DON'T BE THERE".

WHoA! Thanks forewarning! But, this can happen anywhere, like a bus station.

and ya'll wonder why I carry a gun? This can and does happen all over.

Dunkin should not be blamed for lack of security. As Andrea have said, crimes can occur anywhere. I'm glad that you've survive the gunshot.

Jesus Christmas, I didn't expect this when I opened this review. How can you blame Dunkin Donuts for three gangmembers ROBBING them and shooting you??

What kind of security should they have? Metal detectors? I'm so sorry for your injuries and I hope your recovery goes well.

Often times, accidents cause anger, and that anger is usually misplaced. The scenrio with Dunkin Donuts would be no different than any other store or establishment. You could have been in Target, Baskin Robbins, Jiffy Lube, or even your local church.

Question, did they catch the thugs and if so, had any been arrested before?

They did jktshff1.

Thanks Roth, I wonder if any had been convicted before. Willing to bet yea and released early. If that's the case, the op should be po'd at the legal system.

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but judging by the mug shots I'd say chances are really good this is not their first brush with the law.

Does it make me a bad person that I'm starting to realize its just a waste to let some people continue breathing. Like the guys in the mug shots. I don't know them, I don't know their past but I do know I don't want them to continue living... at least on this planet. I think I've finally reached the age where I'm fed up with it all and I tired of making excuses for people.

What kind of "security" are you looking for? Do most coffee shops where you live have armed guards or armed employees?

I agree... this is a case of misplaced anger.
Or perhaps unresolved anger, since justice was already brought down upon the assailants.

Roth, I don't think so, a very valid observation. To many criminals go unpunished simply because of the bleeding heart libs willingness to blame it on poverty, poor upbringing etc.....Why does it take 10-20yrs for the death sentence to be carried out?
Posted by Pepper on 2011-03-03:
I assume it's because of ...

legal red tape - and people who try to lobby for the prisoner's life

sometimes I think they also delay just in case they end up finding evidence that proves the person to be innocent. and ... well if the person's already dead you can't fix a mistake like that.

A Philadelphia police officer was shot and killed walking into a robbery in a Dunkin Donuts a few years ago. The poor cop never had a chance and left behind his wife and 3 children. Dunkin Donuts is not the problem.

4 police officers in a local coffeeshop were shot and killed here last year, leaving behind family, friends, coworkers, and a devastated community. The coffeeshop was not the problem.

I can understand if there is some doubt, but when you have video, or infallible proof ie an admission...why not just kill them?

Didn't know the Cripps were in Florida.

I went to my local bakery this morning, and was surprised that one of the workers from the back was standing there with an AK47.

I got to tell you - I felt really scared at first, then quite secure. I'm happy they are looking out for my safety.

I'd rate this place a 1/10 for atmosphere on TripAdvisor.

I think the Cripps (and the Bloods and MS 13 and all the other nasty gangs) are just about everywhere.

That could be true momsey. OP, were they wearing blue? Cripps wear blue

If someone shot me in the face with a shotgun, I think I may be inclined to forget the events leading up to the shooting, including how the participants were dressed. But not the quality of the donuts - I love donuts.

People ask me why I carry a gun, it's because a cop is too heavy. They ask why I carry a .45, it's because no one makes a .46. Remind e sometime,I have a beautiful piece called Why I Carry. It reveals the mind set behind concealed carry.
