Verizon Wireless Complaint - Can't/Don't Listen to You or You're Issues!
SAGINAW, MICHIGAN -- When I got my Verizon contract, the sales representative was upselling insurance on the phone. It sounds like both a reasonable rate and a good thing to have, so I agreed. The representative was very excited, no doubt because he gets a commission kickback from it. So I go on my way, and after having the phone 13 months the screen dies. The warranty is only 12 months, so I'm grateful I bought the insurance on it. When I go in to file a claim, they tell me I don't have, and never did have insurance, the representative apparantly forgot to put it in the computer!
So after a call to corporate, their official response was "Sorry, there is nothing we can do." They then tell me I can either payy $600 for a new phone, or $20 to do an early upgrade and only pay a total of about $220 for a new one. So I took the early upgrade option. During the process I explicitly told them to ship it to my address, not my parents who are the primary on the account. I was assured it would come to me, not them and that it would arrive in 2 days. The following day, in the confirmation email, I notice they shipped the phone to my parents house on the other side of the state.
So once again I call Verizon and tell them of the latest mistake. Again their response is that it has already been shipped, and there is nothing they can do. So I had to extend my contract to get a decent price because they didn't listen, and now because they again failed to listen during the resolution of the first issue, I have to spend my money and time driving across the state so I can pick have a working phone with them. Definitely looking for a new phone company when my contract is up, AT&T and their Atrix look pretty good.
