Victor's Cafe Complaint - The worst culinary experience
NEW YORK,, NEW YORK -- My husband and I chosen this restaurant because it was close to the theater we were going to.
What a bad choice, the waiter was so arrogant couldn't speak English clear enough to understand what was he saying. Food had no taste, no flavor, was not attractive just awful for Spanish Cuban food. The waiter took about half an hour to bring the main course, the worst of all that was in the menu as the Prix Fixe Dinner THREE-COURSE DINNER MENU.
The Homemade chicken soup with corn and diced avocado, just flour with pieces of something that look like pieces of chicken that dissolved and has no flavor.
Only "3"Smoked ham croquettes with Lulu's savory sauce of roasted tomatoes and cachucha peppers Victor's house Specialty -what a robbery very tiny, couldn't find flavor too small for Spanish cuisine.
The Shredded Black Angus skirt steak simmered in garlic, tomatoes, onions and peppers nestled in a plantain basket, Ja Ja Ja! awful, was anything but Ropa Vieja Cuban style.
The Roast suckling pig marinated in sour orange, olive oil, garlic and herbs. Hand-carved and served with yuca in garlic mojo and Moros y Cristianos, the worst of all. Had 5 flat pieces of washed out pork meat with absolutely no Cuban Style pork flavor, could not find it anywhere. the beans were in an about 100 pieces of rice, I am not kidding it was like eating hollow food. the yuca was about 1 ounce in a fat looking very tiny tiny dish.
We were robed! The only reason I paid for this food is because my husband made me. I was not going to. This restaurant is in insult to the real Cuban cuisine. For real Cuban food go to anyplace but Victor's Cafe. By the way when I complained the woman walked away and left me standing. what a place! I will do my best to let people know about the worst experience in all my 60 years of life.
